It’s no secret that thousands of creators are making a killing on Youtube.
You have persons like Graham Stephan who is making upwards of $250K PER MONTH from Youtube Ad revenue. You also have this 6-year-old kid making over 11 million dollars from Youtube Ads as well.
And then you have smaller creators who are making a few hundred to a few thousand dollars every month.
Doing A quick Youtube search will allow you to find quite a number of creators logging into their dashboard showing proof of their earnings.
And If there is ever a time to start a Youtube channel, it is now.
The problem however is that starting a Youtube channel is NOT all glitz and glamor. Especially if you are shy and don’t have the charisma to wow an audience on camera.
And if you are looking to start making money with Youtube, you have to meet some basic requirements before you can start getting ads to show up on your videos.
At a minimum, you have to gain more than 1000 subscribers and 4000 watch hours in the last 12 months and meet a few other requirements that are updated here.

This method is a process known as affiliate marketing.
What Is Affiliate Marketing And How Do You Make It Work With Youtube?
The easiest way I’ve found to define affiliate marketing is that it is referral marketing. You refer customers to merchants and they split the profits from those sales with you.
For example, let’s say that you bought a bicycle online and you are riding around your neighborhood. And let’s say someone stopped you and told you that they liked your bicycle and wanted to know where you purchased it.
So you asked him for his email and told him that when you get home you’ll send him a link to the website.
Well, when you got home, you check online and found out that the company you bought the bicycle from has an “affiliate program” which is free to join. So sign up, and got a unique link that you shared with your new friend via email.
This unique link is your affiliate link and when your new friend purchases a bike, you automatically receive a commission.
How cool is that?
Now as easy as the above example was, there’s still a better way.
I’m sure by now, you know where I’m heading.
Of course, it’s Affiliate Marketing With Youtube.
Just imagine, instead of our hypothetical example of riding your bicycle around the block and meeting one (1) complete stranger which may never happen, you created a Youtube channel that reviews household products. Products that you already use on a daily basis and know all there is to know about.
Now imagine that every day you have complete strangers finding your videos because you’ve done the right Youtube SEO to get them ranked for the right keywords.
…And because these are reviews about products which persons are already looking to buy, all they need is a bit of reassurance to make the sale.

In a nutshell though, here’s what I do to make money with Youtube and Affiliate marketing — Even without being on camera.
Step #1 — I find a niche with people who are passionate about a certain topic or in need of a solution to a certain problem.
Step #2 — I research low competition keywords that have a high commercial value to focus on with my videos. (This ensures that I rank and get views even with a brand new channel.)
Step #3 — I research high-quality products from affiliate networks that solve the problem my viewers are having.
Step #4 — I create presentation style videos that provide value to my viewers and then recommend the affiliate products to them. For example, I use a software like Vidnami to produce my videos so that I never have to be on camera.
Step #5 — I upload a lot of videos. With this method, consistency is the key. Don’t expect to upload 5–10 videos and retire. You have to consistently upload videos and as your channel gains more authority, the more views you’ll get and essentially the more commissions you’ll generate.
How Much Can You Make With Youtube And Affiliate Marketing Starting From Scratch?
This is an IMPORTANT question, right?
After all, with a brand new channel, it is going to take a while before you can get accepted into the Youtube partner program.
So how much can you earn from affiliate marketing with youtube with a brand new channel?
To be frank with you, that is not a question that I or anyone can answer. It depends on quite a number of factors.
- What niche you decide to get in.
- What products you decide to review.
- How well you review the products.
- What keywords you target with your videos.
- How consistent you are with your marketing.
But what I can say is, I have had channels that started earning money from the very first week and some that took a long time.
What you need to do, is to get started right away!
Think about it this way: the time is going to pass whether we like it or not. So take a step, make a plunge, and try to get at least two-three videos per week done. At the low end, that’s around 8 videos a month and at the high end, that around 12 videos a month.
Plus if you do the right Youtube SEO and focus on targeting the right keywords, at the end of 3 months you’ll potentially have 24–36 videos providing value to your viewers with a high probability of generating commissions.
By the way, here’s a little secret: Unlike posting on social media sites like Instagram and Facebook where you post dies after a few days or at most a few weeks, a video on Youtube can generate views for years resulting in the possibility of passive income.

As you can see from the image above when I search for the keyword: “how to get rid of stretch marks,” the top three videos have been uploaded over two to six years ago and they are still getting views to this day.
That is exactly what you want to accomplish with the videos that you upload promoting products and services with your Youtube channels.

We are living in unpredictable times and it is very important that you find creative ways to either generate a full-time income or supplement your current income.
